Plas-Pak Industries Establishes Coatings
Reasearch And Development Laboratory

Plas-Pak Industries’ new High Solids Spray (HSS) Coatings Research and Development Laboratory has opened in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.

According to Jack Hunter, HSS Business Manager, the new coatings R & D lab will be equipped with state of art low pressure spray and test equipment for reactive plural component coatings, liners and foams. The facility will focus on technical and equipment development and testing, as well as customer service and training with Plas- Pak’s increasingly popular HSS Systems.

Plas-Pak’s HSS technology is specified and widely used in marine, military, transportation, pipeline coating, and liner markets, for which applications are generally associated with higher solids, plural component compounds. Although the HSS system is easy to use and maintain, most compounds benefit from optimization to capture the many benefits of HSS technology. The lab will facilitate HSS technology adoption and development and enable Plas Pak to train key customers and end use technicians with proper equipment handling.

Soon to be released is a new, patent-pending, large capacity hybrid packaging and delivery system called Film-Pak. Film-Pak will expand HSS technology consideration and use from small, touch up applications to larger scale projects and programs.
